Your therapist will thoroughly cleanse your skin, and apply goggles to protect your eyes. A fine layer of cool conductive gel is smoothed over your skin, so that the lens of of the IPL hand-piece can glide gently across your skin as the light is pulsed. You will feel warmth as the pulses of light are absorbed into your skin. The gel is then removed, and a post treatment cream is applied to cool and soothe. Immediate redness is expected, which may last up to 24 hours, and pigment will darken, which remains for up to a week as it rises to the surface and gently flakes away.
