Profhilo has been hailed as a revolutionary product for restoring skin which is lacking in lustre, volume and glow. It is an injectable skin treatment which produces a refreshed, plumped yet natural look. Profhilo is not used to change the shape of your face nor does it add volume, it is unique in it’s ability to add strength and structure to sagging skin and helps rewind the clock in a way that does not make you look ‘over done’.
As we age, particularly after 30, the amount of collagen, fat and elastin in the skin decreases markedly. The result is a loss of volume, the appearance of fine lines and a general dulling of the skin. Profhilo is the perfect rejuvenating treatment to combat these signs of skin ageing.
Primarily, Profhilo is used to treat the face, but it can also be used to rejuvenate the neck, décolletage, hands, arms and even knees.
Profhilo is an injectable skin treatment made from highly concentrated, highly purified hyaluronic acid (HA). Far less viscous than hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, Profhilo’s runnier consistency means that as it is injected into the skin, it spreads within a 2cm radius of the injection site.
Profhilo is injected into 10 specific areas of the face, known as the BAP (bio aesthetic points). 5 injections of 0.2ml are administered on each side of the face. The product then spreads under the surface of the skin where it immediately hydrates deep within the skin, due to the hydrophilic (water-loving) properties of the hyaluronic acid.
Profhilo also acts as a ‘bio-remodeller’. It gets broken down after around 28 days, but prior to breaking down, it stimulates significant collagen and elastin synthesis, resulting in plumper, tighter, smoother, more supple skin.
The treatment targets skin that lacks volume and elasticity, making it ideal for anyone over the age of 30 who is experiencing some skin laxity, crepe-like skin or fine lines and wrinkles.
Anti-Wrinkle injections are made from Botulinum Toxin A, a purified protein found naturally in the soil. This treatment works by temporarily blocking the message from the brain to the muscle telling it to contract which results in an inactive muscle and no expression lines.
It is most often used for frown lines, forehead lines and crows’ feet and can soften more persistent lines or prevent further lines from forming. We also use it to weaken the ‘masseter’ muscle to reduce the effects of teeth grinding and clenching. At Hannah Aesthetics we use all three Botulinum Toxins approved by the TGA for use in Australia and often use these in combination to give you the best product in the most appropriate area.
During the treatment you will have a consultation with your medical practitioner who will discuss your general health, anti-ageing concerns and form a treatment plan with you based on your desired outcomes. You will then be scripted with our clinic Doctor before the treatment commences.
We use tiny 30 gauge needles which are hardly felt and if needed can offer our clients an ‘ice stick’ and vibrating wand which also helps reduce any sting. We will take before photos prior to treatment and request that you come back for a two week review to asses that the product has worked as desired.
You can start seeing results within 2-3 days but full effects within 2 weeks. These results last for up to 3 months. You will notice that the area treated is smooth, flatter and has less wrinkles.
We can alter the dose to give you a gentle result that softens lines and leaves good expression or a more dramatic result which stops more movement. It’s your call!
The Dermal Fillers we use at Hannah Aesthetics are all temporary fillers made from hyaluronic acid gel. The filler is used to replace lost facial volume (eg in cheeks, under eyes, temples and jowls) and to define and lift areas (eg jawline, chin, lips). As we age our facial structure changes due to bone and fat pad loss and reduction in collagen and skin elasticity. Dermal filler treatments are an ideal way to ‘naturally’ replenish and restore the ageing process.
During the treatment you will have a consultation with your medical practitioner who will discuss your concerns and form a treatment plan with you based on your desired outcome. Upon going ahead, your clinician may choose to use a needle or cannula based on your desired results for particular area and anatomical safety concerns. We will take before photos prior to treatment and request that you come back for a two week review to asses that the product has worked as desired.
Your clinician may offer you a nerve block, or anaesthetic cream to make the treatment as comfortable for you as possible.
Results with dermal fillers are immediate and our clients love to see the improvements happening in real time!
There may be some swelling and bruising but this is often minimal. The filler will have settled and be integrated into the existing tissue at the two week mark. You can expect to see volume restored and softer lines. The product will naturally be broken down by the body over the next 6 – 12 months at which point re-treatment is advised.
PDO is a polydioxanone which is a biodegradable synthetic polymer. It is what is used in dissolvable sutures and helps stimulate collagen production. Mono Threads can be used to address skin elasticity and skin texture and improve deep winkles. PDO mono threads can be used on the face and neck and helps with tightening and sagging as well as collagen stimulation. They are virtually risk free and can be used for all patients, especially popular with those for whom dermal fillers are not appropriate or for areas where we do not want to ‘over fill’.
During the treatment you will have a consultation with your medical practitioner who will discuss your concerns and form a treatment plan with you based on your desired outcome. We will then use a strong topical numbing cream on the area to be treated which will make the procedure very comfortable. Tiny needles are inserted into your face, there could be anywhere between 10 to 200 depending on your area of concern. These are then removed, leaving the PDO thread under the dermis (skin). We will take before photos prior to treatment and request that you come back for a 6 week and 12 week review to asses that the product has worked as desired.
Best results are seen 3 months post treatment when the new collagen has formed. These results can be long lasting, up to two years. The threads will create a more youthful and lifted appearance with increased collagen, reduced elasticity and a thickened dermis.
